06/13/2013 11:00 AMDorothy R. Suech Smith, 86, formerly of Orange and Branford, died on June 7 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. The wife of the late George S. Smith, she was born in Norwalk on Oct. 18, 1926, the daughter of the late Albert and Theresa Kopsco Suech and had worked at the Racebrook Pharmacy until her retirement. Dorothy was a real people person who loved to entertain at her house and also touched many people in a special way.
She is survived by her children Katherine Berluti and her husband Richard of Old Saybrook, Timothy Smith and his wife Margie of Orange, and David Smith and his wife Cindy of South Lake, Tahoe; her daughter-in-law Joyce C. Smith of Northford; and 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Robert G. Smith and siblings Albert and Mary Suech, and Irene Vizi.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Tuesday at 11 a.m. to attend
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated June 11 at St. Barnabas Church, North Haven followed by committal in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405. The North Haven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
