Lena Caruso Salerno, 100, of East Haven, died on May 25 at Apple Rehab Laurel Woods. She was the wife of the late Albert N. Salerno and daughter of the late Pietro and Annunziata Carella Caruso. Prior to her retirement, Lena had been a hair stylist for many years. She was also a former member of the Jolly Timers, the Annex YMA, and the Sons and Daughters of Italy.

She is survived by two children, Elaine Salvati of East Haven and Albert Salerno and his wife Rose of North Haven, as well as two grandchildren, Tara and James Salvati. She was predeceased by her sisters Vera Wilson and Sarah Grande and her brothers Fred and Frank Caruso.

Her funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, East Haven, on May 29 for a mass of Christian burial at Our Lady of Pompeii Church.
