Marie V. Forslund, 88, of New Haven

Marie V. Forslund, 88, of New Haven died on June 1. Born Feb. 14, 1925 in New Haven, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Sulok) Drexler. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son retired EHPD William Forslund, her sister Dorothy Gamber, and her brother Harold French.

Marie is survived by her loving husband of 68 years William Forslund Sr. and her two daughters Christine Cain (John) of Hamden and Patricia Macolino (Ernie) of Branford. Marie is also survived by three grandchildren Christopher Forslund (Jennifer), Michael Goclowski (Angela), and Elissa Goclowski; her great-granddaughter Brianna Forslund; and her daughter-in-law JoAnn Forslund of Northford.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven. A funeral procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home on Thursday, June 6 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Bernadette Church, 385 Townsend Avenue, New Haven. Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
