Yvette Boyer, 83, Old Saybrook


Yvette (Loranger) Boyer, 83, of Old Saybrook, died on May 13 at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was the wife of 65 years to Camille Boyer. Yvette was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Antonio and Cora (Mailhot) Loranger. She had lived in New Bedford for many years until moving to Old Saybrook.

Yvette was a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1947, and worked at Champegny’s Shoes as a sales manager until her retirement in 1991. She was also an auxiliary member of the 6th Bristol Club and a member of the Red Hat Society in Florida. In addition, she enjoyed scrapbooking and ceramics, and she loved to take walks.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Marc Boyer and his wife Robin of Acworth, Georgia, and Jeanne Boyer Roy and her husband Charles of Essex; four grandchildren, Alex Roy, Alison Boyer, Nathan Roy, and Kailey Boyer; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral procession will leave Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, May 22, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass, which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery- Bourne. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, May 21, from 4 to 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the 7th Floor Hospice Unit at Middlesex Hospital, 27 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457.
