05/13/2013 03:00 PMElizabeth Schmitt, 95, formerly of Branford, died on May 10. She was the widow of Howard Schmitt. Born in New Haven on Feb. 9, 1918, Mrs. Schmitt had worked as a machinist at Echlin's in Branford for many years.
She is survived by her daughter Christina Walsh of Lacey, Washington, and three granddaughters, Kerry Burns, Kathryn Walsh, and Nikki Burwell.
Friends are invited to a funeral service on Tuesday, May 14, at 11 a.m., at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford. Burial will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
