Kerri Anita Phillips, 50, Ivoryton
Kerri Anita Phillips, 50, of Ivoryton, died peacefully on April 24, surrounded by her loving family, her special friend Dave, and many other close friends. Kerri was born in Middletown on Nov. 29, 1962, daughter of Elida W. Phillips of Palm Bay, Florida, and the late Raleigh C. Phillips. Kerri was a 1980 graduate of Old Saybrook High School and a 1984 graduate of Bryant University in Rhode Island, where she earned a BS in business administration. Her business career included being executive administrator to the president of Traveler's Realty Investment Corporation, and later she held a similar position at McKesson Corporation.
Kerri was formerly married to John FitzGerald of Old Saybrook and is the mother of James Martin, 20, and Erin Kerri FitzGerald, 16. Kerri’s children were the focus of her life.
Kerri enjoyed her family; her home and gardens; vacations in Newport and the Outer Banks; jazz festivals; and all kinds of music. Besides her mother, her children, and her former husband, Kerri is survived by her five siblings and many cousins and their families.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, at 11 a.m., at the Deep River Congregational Church, One Church Street, Deep River.
