Donna Mae Harvey, Guilford

Donna Mae Harvey of Guilford died peacefully on April 4. She was the beloved wife of David B. Harvey of Guilford and daughter of the late Francis and Wil Patenaude, formerly of Guilford.  Donna was born and raised in Guilford and spent many years in Yalesville before moving back to Guilford in 1976.  Together with her husband, she started a ceramics business, and they enjoyed going to craft fairs, selling their work in gift shops, and holding ceramic classes at her studio for over 20 years.

Donna very much enjoyed the outdoors and had a deep appreciation for nature. She also loved gardening. Over the past several years, she had become more involved with A Place Called Hope, a rehabilitation center for birds of prey.  It was with A Place Called Hope that Donna was able to release several rehabilitated hawks and owls back into their natural habitat, and she took great joy from it.

Donna was very enthusiastic and always had a smile and positive attitude towards life.

Besides her husband of 51 years, she is survived by her son Daniel Harvey and his wife Amy, two grandchildren, Christina and Timothy Harvey of Middletown, as well as several other family members and many, many dear friends.

At Donna’s request, no services will be held. Donations may be made in her memory to A Place Called Hope, 254 Roast Meat Hill Rd., Killingworth, CT 06419 (www.aplacecalledhoperaptors.com). To share a memory or leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit www.GuilfordFuneralHome.com.
