Gladys N. Hoadley, 91, East Haven
Gladys N. Hoadley, 91, of East Haven, died on April 22. She was the loving wife of the late Philip T. Hoadley. Gladys was born in New Haven on April 4, 1922, daughter of the late Ralph F. and Edna (Hotchkiss) Newton. During World War II, Gladys had worked as a welder for American Tubing. In addition to raising her family, she had also been employed by Yale-New Haven Hospital, retiring in 1985. Gladys enjoyed doing volunteer work for the East Haven Food Pantry and Christ and The Epiphany Episcopal Church.
She is survived by a sister, Marjorie Tuscano of Florida; a daughter, Janet D McCallister of Santa Rosa, California; and a daughter-in-law, Judith J. (Mitchell) Hoadley of East Haven. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Donna L. Conlon and two sons, Raymond T. Hoadley and William A. Hoadley.
Her family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26, at 1 p.m., at Christ and The Epiphany Episcopal Church, 39 Park Place, East Haven, followed by burial in East Lawn Cemetery.
