James J. Eagan, 80, Berlin


James J. Eagan, 80, of Berlin, died at his home on March 2. He was the son of the late Thomas and Cecilia (Campbell) Eagan. James was a U.S Marine Corps veteran who had served in Korea and Vietnam. He retired as a master sergeant after 20 years of dedicated service to his country and, for many years, owned and operated his own trucking company.

His family wishes to extend a special thanks to all his care providers, especially Alisha, Krystyna, and Barbara, who were with him for many years.

He is survived by two sisters, Margaret Eagan and Frances Eagan, both of Deep River. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and Thomas Eagan, Jr., and his sister Elizabeth.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 7, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Church in Chester. Visitation will be held prior to the mass, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook.
