Deloris T. McBrien, 92, Madison
Deloris T. McBrien, 92, died on March 2 at The Hearth in Madison following respiratory complications. She was born in New York City on Sept. 23, 1920, daughter of the late Edward C. and Mary Brewster McBrien. She had worked for over 40 years in New York City as a secretary in publishing, in textiles, and then in banking firms. She was greatly appreciated by her co-workers.
Miss McBrien moved to Madison from New York State in August 1996 and loved the town, the people, the beach, and the shoreline. Her hobbies were gardening, listening to music, bridge, and travel. She was also an active parishioner of St. Margaret Church in town. She was a beloved aunt and friend to all of her family.
She is survived by one nephew and his wife, Bill and Mary Kollman of Salem, Connecticut; three nieces, Mary Sue Schwarz of Ithaca, New York, Lea Carroll of Great Falls, Virginia, and Jean Gendron of Gaithersburg, Maryland; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and other extended Kearney, Fenton, and McCutcheon relatives. She was predeceased by her loving sister Eleanor McBrien Kollman.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Margaret Church on March 6. Burial was at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, New York. The Swan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
