Marji Joy Benson, 53, of Old Saybrook, died on Feb. 2. She was the wife of the late Robert Whitney Benson, whom she married on Sept. 11, 1982. Mrs. Benson was born in Middletown on April 1, 1959 and graduated from Valley Regional High School in 1977.

Though she held many different jobs, Mrs. Benson had been employed most recently as a medical transcriptionist. Her true role, however, was as a loving mother, wife, and talented homemaker. The love she showed her children, family, and friends was pure, deep, and boundless.

Mrs. Benson was also an avid fan of Bon Jovi and had attended 31 concerts in the past eight years.

She is survived by four children, Kyle Benson, Tyler Benson, Whitney Benson, and Samuel Benson.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, at the Swan Funeral Home in Old Saybrook.
