Kyle Fergus Mooney, 18, of Lake Tarleton Rd., Warren, New Hampshire, died on Jan. 25 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, following a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in Lebanon, New Hampshire on July 29, 1994, son of Fergus T. and Lori H. (Owen) Mooney. Kyle was a boy who fought his way to become a man and was stricken again by a mighty sword. His fight was honorable and will always inspire. Kyle was one “tough hombre.”

Kyle was a graduate of the Woodsville High School, class of 2012, and he enjoyed working as a self-employed carpenter. He had been accepted at the University of New Hampshire and was to begin in the fall semester of 2013. He was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan and a fan of anyone who would beat the Yankees! While at Woodsville High School, he was a member of the golf team (and was captain in 2011), the ski team (and was captain in 2012), and the baseball team. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing guitar, driving, snowmobiling, dirt biking, fishing, and, most importantly, hanging with his family and friends.

Besides his parents, he is survived by the family dog, Charlie; his maternal aunt, Cindi Kobak and her husband Bill of Guilford; his paternal uncles, John Mooney and his wife Pat of Branford, Joe Mooney and his wife Nancy, also of Branford, and Michael Mooney and his wife Eileen Ritter of Washington, D.C.; his paternal aunt, Elizabeth McAuliffe and her husband Kevin of New Port Richey, Florida; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Edward Owen and Ruth Owen; his paternal grandparents, Fergus Mooney and Anne Mooney; his maternal uncle, Stephen Owen; and his paternal aunts, Cathleen Grantland and Elise Mooney.

Calling hours will take place on Friday, Feb. 1, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Ricker Funeral Home, 1 Birch St., Woodsville, New Hampshire. A service in celebration of Kyle’s life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 11 a.m., at the Common Man Inn, 231 Main St., Plymouth, New Hampshire. Burial will take place in the Warren Village Cemetery at a later date.
