01/03/2013 10:00 AMGeorge E. Lee, Jr., 90, of Woodbridge, died on Dec. 29 surrounded by love and peace at the Branford Hospice. He was predeceased by his spouse of 25 years, Terry Lee, and his loving companion of 35 years, Marie Foley and her son John Foley. Mr. Lee was the son of the late George E. and Sabina K. Lee. He attended the University of Hawaii and had a long career in the computer maintenance field, working for IBM and several leasing companies. He was also on the Executive Committee for the Woodbridge Volunteer Fire Department for the last four decades and was an avid watcher of any and all Woodbridge town meetings on the local access channels. Mr. Lee enjoyed boating to Alaska with his dear friends, building and restoring wooden furniture, golf, current events, and being Irish.
His family thanks all the extraordinary care providers at the Branford Hospice, referring to them as “angels on this earth.”
Mr. Lee, or “Grandpa Bub” as he was affectionately called, is survived by his daughter Sharon Joan Lee of Manchester; his son George E. Lee III and wife Jan of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and his daughters by choice, Patricia Foley of North Haven and Judy Iaquinto and her husband Joseph, also of North Haven. In addition, he is survived by his niece Susan Robins and her family of Guilford; his sister-in-law Joan Wareham of Guilford; his grandchildren, including David Lee and wife Angela of Missoula, Montana, Michael James Lee and wife Cheri of Cameron, North Carolina, Kate Iaquinto and husband Tim of South Dennis, Massachusetts, and Michael Joseph Iaquinto and his fiancée Andrea of Nashua, New Hampshire; his great-grandchildren, including Alexis, Galen, and Rowan Lee of Missoula, Montana, and Shelby and Madalyn Lee of Helena, Montana; and many loyal and faithful friends, whom he cherished, especially in his later years. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Gene Prendergast.
Private services will be held at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, his wish was to have donations made in his memory to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22313, or via their website, and/or to the Branford Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405. The Guilford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
