12/20/2012 10:00 AMFlorence A. Mugford Barger, 75, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Bassett Rd., North Haven, died on her birthday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the Hope Sound Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. She was the wife of the late Thomas C. Barger, Sr. Florence was born in New Haven on Dec. 15, 1937, daughter of the late Robert J. and Ann M. Preiss Mugford. She had lived in North Haven for over 50 years and had worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 10 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a former parishioner and Women’s Club member at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Florence was also a member of the New Haven Council of Catholic Women and the Blue Horizons of Blue Cross.
She is survived by three children, Holly Manocchi and her husband Robert of Cape Coral, Florida, Thomas C. Barger, Jr. of North Haven, and Timothy C. Barger and his wife Laurie of Wallingford; three grandchildren, Thomas C. Barger III, Zachary C. Barger, and Ashlee Manocchi; and a great-granddaughter, Jassalynn Manocchi.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Francis Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Rd., North Haven, on Friday, Dec. 21, at 11:30 a.m., to attend a mass of Christian burial, and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in All Saints Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Frances Cabrini Church Building Fund, 6 Welch Rd., North Haven, CT 06473.
