12/20/2012 02:00 PMDavid A. Loomis, 52, of Wolcott, died at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. David was born on April 4, 1960 in Owosso, Michigan, son of the late Paul and Rita (Schuller) Loomis. David was born an angel who gave love to his family during his lifetime. He was a natural swimmer and participated in the Special Olympics and the Wolcott Special Games, where he earned numerous medals, of which he was very proud. He also enjoyed duckpin bowling and playing the harmonica.
David loved entertaining everyone, especially at Christmas and his birthday. He brought joy, love and laughter to everyone he met. He was a fan of super heroes, especially Spiderman and The Hulk, and he would imitate their gestures. David also enjoyed comic books, and Christmas was a favorite time of the year for him. When he was told that Christmas was coming, his favorite saying was “Ho! Ho! Ho!” David enjoyed parties, caroling, and of course, Santa Claus.
David’s family extends a special thank you to Lou DeSerio for providing David’s haircuts over the years and to Rose and everyone at the Branford Card Shop for their thoughtfulness.
He is survived by his siblings, Catherine Loomis of Branford, William Loomis and his wife Debra of Branford, Julia Loomis of Branford, and Timothy Loomis and his wife Sheryl of Santa Cruz, California. He is also survived by his friends at New Life Foundations.
