Vivian Shaw Woodruff, 88, a longtime resident of Guilford, died peacefully on Dec. 2 in Ocala, Florida. She was the loving wife of the late Alva B. Woodruff, Jr.  Vivian was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, on April 14, 1924, daughter of the late Charles and Caroline Albers Shaw.

She is survived by her loving children, Sharon Lombardo of Ocala, Florida, Maxine Bennett of Branford, Elaine Murray of Ocala, Florida, and Margaret Woodruff of Guilford. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Caroline Caciopoli of Hamden. She was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and William Shaw.

Funeral services were held on Dec. 7 at the First Congregational Church in Guilford.  Burial took place in Alder Brook Cemetery, Guilford.  Those wishing to make a contribution in her name may donate to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Hwy, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.  The Guilford Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
