Charles Pond, 86, of Chester, formerly of Branford, died in Chester on Dec. 9. He was the husband of the late Anne Pond. Mr. Pond was born on Jan. 10, 1926, son of the late Leon and Elvira Pond.  He had been a construction laborer for many years and had also worked as a lobsterman for many years. 

He is survived by his two sons, Daniel Pond and his wife Cathy of North Branford, and Wayne Pond of Branford, as well as his grandchildren, Kimberly and Stephanie Pond.  He was predeceased by his daughter Corrinne Pond; four brothers, Kenneth, Leon, Robert, and Donald Pond; and two sisters, Gertrude Johnson and Edith Davidson.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and are invited to a funeral service on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m., at the Church of Christ Congregational, 192 Thimble Island Rd., Stony Creek.
