11/12/2012 01:45 PMOscar W. Libby, 95, of Branford, died in New Haven on Nov. 9. He was the husband of the late Helen Nash Libby. Mr. Libby was born in New Haven on April 29, 1917, son of the late George R. and Elizabeth Grossman Libby. Mr. Libby had served in the U. S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was the owner-operator of Libby Sales and Service in New Haven.
His family thanks his longtime caregiver, Jennifer Wilmott, and also gives special thanks to the Branford Ambulance Service.
Mr. Libby is survived by his children, Karen Libby of Derby, Damon Libby and his wife Margaret George of North Branford, George Libby and his wife Katherine Wasilewicz of Northford, and Keith Libby and his wife Meredith Beattie of Branford; his grandchildren, Charles and Daniel Messner, Brendon, Samantha, Kendra, Colin and Evan Libby, and George and Anna Libby; and his great-grandchildren, Garrett, Marissa, and Kali May. He will also be missed by his dog, Sam. He was predeceased by his brother, George R. Libby, Jr.
Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., with a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford.
