11/05/2012 09:00 AMJean Diglio Cewe, 89, of North Haven, died peacefully at her home on Oct. 30, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Joseph E. Cewe. Jean was born in New Haven on April 22, 1923, daughter of the late Sam Diglio and Sophie Tondalo Diglio DeLucia. Jean enjoyed baking and was an excellent baker. She also loved to tend to her garden and loved being a member of the Tuesday morning bowling league and the St. Frances Cabrini Church Thursday morning bowling league. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by two sons, David Cewe and Ronald Cewe and his wife Karen; five grandchildren, David Cewe, Jr., Gina Cewe Barrett and her husband Brian, Daniel Cewe and his wife Jackie, Nicholas Cewe and his wife Christina, and Kristen Cewe; and five great-grandchildren, Brian and Nicholas Barrett, and Kaden, Conner, and Natalia Cewe. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, close friends, and wonderful neighbors. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Cewe; her daughter-in-law, Lorriane Cewe; two brothers, Dominic and Joseph Diglio; and a sister, Frances Diglio.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Frances Cabrini Church, Pond Hill Rd., North Haven, on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m., to attend a mass of Christian burial. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family. There are no visiting hours.
