Joseph J. Kowaleski, 92, North Haven


Joseph J. Kowaleski, 92, of Ridge Rd., North Haven, died Oct. 28 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford.  He was the husband of the late Jayne Wozniak Kowaleski. Joseph was born in New Haven on March 23, 1920, son of the late John and Frances Chomicz Kowalewski.  He served his country faithfully during World War II with General Patton’s Third Army and later was an installer for Atlantic Floor Covering for many years until his retirement. 

He is survived by two brothers, Frank Kowaleski of East Haven and Alfred Kowalewski and his wife Kay of North Haven, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great niece and great-great nephew. He was predeceased by four siblings, Arthur Kowalewski, Walter Kowaleski, and John and Frances Kowalewski. 

Funeral services will be conducted at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Friday, Nov. 2, at 11:30 a.m.  Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT  06405.  www.northhavenfuneral.com
