10/26/2012 12:00 PMWarren L. Locke, 91, of Branford, died in New Haven on Oct. 22. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to June Smith Locke. Warren was born in New Haven on March 3, 1921, son of the late Joseph and Edith Spencer Locke. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from March 1941 to June 1945 and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was also a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Warren retired after working 32 years with the Southern Connecticut Gas Company as a mechanic. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, and also loved traveling and enjoyed horses.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children, Susan Locke Lynk of Bridgeport and Bonnie Locke Taylor and her husband Jerry of East Haven. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Stacey Anyzeski, Christopher Taylor and his wife Jennifer, Ryan Taylor, and Adam Taylor; a great-grandson, Brandon Taylor; a sister, Eunice Locke Hahn of Hamden; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Smith Szirbik and Virginia Maturo, and four brothers, Stanley, Raymond, Ernest, and Robert Locke.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 10 a.m., at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial with military honors will follow in Methodist Cemetery, Bethany. Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 26, from 5 to 8 p.m.
