Frances Carrano, 94, of New Haven, died surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 20. She was the wife of the late Salvatore J. Carrano. Frances was born in New Haven on July 9, 1918, daughter of the late Luciano and Diamond Avallone DeCapua.  She had worked as a seamstress for many years with the Robbi Lynn Company. Frances kept her heart and home open to everyone.

She is survived by two sons, Andrew S. Carrano and his wife Deborah of Westerly, Rhode Island, and Salvatore Carrano and his wife Patricia of Guilford; a sister, Antoinette Williams of West Haven; a daughter-in-law, Noreen Carrano; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother and five sisters.

A funeral mass was held at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. The East Haven Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
