Kathleen Cerrito, 63, Branford


Kathleen B. Cerrito, 63, of Branford, died at her home on Sept. 30, with her family by her side.  She was the beloved wife of Robert G. Cerrito.  Kathy was born in New Haven on March 21, 1949, daughter of the late Gordon and Estelle Hay.  She attended Cross High School and then worked for many years as a CNA at Branford Hills Health Care Center.

First and foremost, Kathy was a dedicated mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and sisters.  She also enjoyed adventures in snowmobiling, scuba diving, fishing, and impromptu trips with her adoring husband.  She loved to cook family dinners, reading, flowers from the garden, shopping, and days at the casino with her sisters and her late mother Estelle.  She was always taking care of everyone.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children, Cynthia Bosworth and son-in-law Kevin, Mark Cerrito and daughter-in-law Stephanie, and Robert Cerrito, Jr.; five cherished grandchildren, Aleyah, Sean, Dylan, Miles, and Gavin; her two step-daughters, Lisa Battick and Laurie Battick and her son Prescott; four sisters, Diane Golia and her husband Dominick, Beverly Hanlon and her husband Eddie, Caroline Jones, and Barbara Jaeger and her husband Ken; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Bill Jones.

Relatives and friends may call at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, on Tuesday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., and are invited to a funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.  For directions and online memorial see www.wsclancy.com.
