Joseph A. Lauria, 55, East Haven


Joseph A. Lauria, 55, of Coe Ave., East Haven, died at Yale-New Haven Hospital on Sept. 24. He was the loving husband of Beverly Boughton Lauria. Joe was born in New Haven on Dec. 15, 1956, beloved son of Lena Scalia Lauria of East Haven and the late Joseph J. Lauria. He was a machinist for Metro North and a former 18-year employee of U.S. Repeating Arms. Joe had also served as treasurer of the East Haven Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, and he was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Church and a member of the International Association of Machinists Union.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children, Alicia and Agostina Lauria, both of East Haven, and Joseph R., Nicholas A., and Stephen A. Lauria, also of East Haven.

His funeral procession will leave the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, on Friday, Sept. 28, at 9:30 a.m.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 10 a.m., followed by burial in East Lawn Cemetery.  Friends may call on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Project Purple, 141 South Main St., Beacon Falls, CT 06403.  www.clancyfuneralhome.com.
