Angelina C. “Angie” Barbaro, 79, North Haven
Angelina C. “Angie” Furino Barbaro, 79, of 520 Pool Rd., North Haven, died peacefully on Sept. 25 at the Hospital of St. Raphael, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Haven on March, 25, 1933, daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Mansi Furino. Angie had worked for the SNET Company for 30 years. She had also worked for the Hamden Police Department and the Grassy Hill Country Club, and she had been a bank teller at area banks until her retirement.
Angie was an avid UConn Woman’s Basketball and St. Louis Rams fan. She enjoyed knitting hats and gloves for the needy, loved John Wayne movies, but most of all enjoyed her family and friends, especially at Christmas time.
She is survived by her three beloved children, Leanora Barbaro Shpak of Wallingford, Anita Anderson and her husband Rich of North Haven, and Robert Barbaro and his wife Jean of Wallingford. She was the beloved grandmother of Nicole Bellemare, Michael Anderson and his wife Diane, David Anderson, and Steven, Christina, Michael, and Brittany Barbaro. She is also survived by two sisters, Anna Fucci and her husband Russell of Clinton and Delores Berger and her husband Dan of Meriden; her sister-in-law, Theresa Furino of North Haven; and her brother-in-law, Joe Savarese. She was predeceased by four siblings, Frank Furino, Matilda (Mrs. Tony) Pezzullo, Louise Savarese, and Anthony Furino.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Friday, Sept. 28, at 9:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Barnabas Church at 10 a.m., followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery.
