Edward A. Smeriglio, 70, Woodbridge

Edward A. Smeriglio, 70, a long- time resident of Woodbridge, died suddenly on Sept. 4.  He was the son of the late Angela Smeriglio-Robertson and Alfred Smeriglio, both formerly of Guilford. Ed was devoted to his family and his many friends.  He loved travelling and, as his family and friends know, enjoyed good food and dining at his favorite restaurants throughout the New Haven area.

Ed had worked for Prudential Realty in Madison since 2008.  He had started his real estate career with the former Beazley Company in 1980 and was a top performer. Throughout the years, he received numerous awards and accolades, including New Home Salesman of the Year and the prestigious Leading Edge Society’s Award, placing him in the top seven percent of Prudential’s 62,000 agents.

He is survived by nieces, Angela Dysart of Greensboro, Georgia, and Elisa Senoski of Orange; his Aunt Connie and Uncle Frank Mendillo of Clinton; his Aunt Concetta and Uncle Charles Puglisi of Hamden; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends in Florida, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.  He was predeceased by his brother, Alfred Smeriglio, Jr.

Friends and relatives may call on Saturday, Sept. 28, at The Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by graveside services in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven, where he will be laid to rest in peace with his family.  To share a memory or leave a message of condolence for the family, please visit: www.guilfordfuneralhome.com.
