Janet Martin Triebel, 93, Guilford
Janet Martin Triebel, 93, a long time resident of Guilford, died peacefully at her home on Aug. 22. She was the loving wife of the late George S. Triebel. Mrs. Triebel was born in Brooklyn, New York, on June 27, 1919, daughter of the late Harry and Frances Kessel Martin. She was a devoted Yankees fan and an avid reader and knitter. She was also a long time member of the Christian Science Church in Guilford. www.GuilfordFuneralHome.com.
During retirement, she and her husband George enjoyed traveling to Europe and taking train trips across the United States. In later years, Mrs. Triebel found pleasure in reading and reminiscing over the letters that she and George had written to each other daily during World War II while he was serving in the Pacific Theater.
Mrs. Triebel is survived by her loving children, Allen Triebel of Ellijay, Georgia, David Triebel of Guilford and Harry Triebel and his wife Lynn of Guilford. She is also survived by five grandchildren, George Triebel and his wife Camille, and Steven, Sarah, Jaclyn, and Katherine Triebel, as well as a great-grandchild, Dylan. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Martin.
Friends are invited to join the family and celebrate Janet’s life at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, on Tuesday, Aug. 28, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will take place privately.
