08/23/2012 02:00 PMJoan A. Marquis, 76, of Old Saybrook, died on Aug. 21. She was the wife of the late Moril Marquis. Joan was born in Waterbury on July 26, 1936, daughter of the late Alexander and Gladys (Benem) Peden. She was the owner and operator of Key Pools of Old Saybrook and later volunteered at the Westbrook Tourist Center on I-95 North.www.swanfuneralhomeoldsaybrook.com for memorial tributes.
She is survived by her son, Mark Marquis of Old Saybrook; her stepson, Frank Marquis and his wife Patricia of Wolcott; her stepdaughter, Peggy Kjos of Clinton; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of a brief service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook. Please visit
