Jean (Hoffman) Krause Sledge, 83, a long time resident of Berlin, died Aug. 20 at Middlesex Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Orien V. Sledge. Jean was born in Wallingford on Feb. 28, 1929, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Tessmer) Hoffman.  She had been employed early-on by the Borough Electric Works in Wallingford and was the historian of the Bucks and Does Square Dance Club in Berlin.  www.swanfuneralhomeoldsaybrook.com for condolences and tributes.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey A. Krause and his wife Catherine of Old Saybrook and Thomas R. Krause and his wife Lori of Port Charlotte, Florida.  She is also survived by three grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.
