08/20/2012 04:00 PMRobert F. Manske, Jr., 69, of North Branford, died Aug. 17 at the VAMC in West Haven with his loving family by his side. He was the husband of 45 years to Marilyn Cimino Manske. Mr. Manske was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, on Jan. 12, 1943, son of the late Robert F. Manske, Sr. and Irene LeClair Manske. He obtained an associate's degree in business from the University of New Haven and served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He had worked for the SNET Company for over 30 years, retiring as a manager, and later worked as a narrator for the Essex Steam Train. www.northhavenfuneral.com
Mr. Manske was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was also an antique car enthusiast and truly enjoyed his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kyle Manske and his wife Maria of North Branford and Tiffney D'Amato and her husband Jeff of North Haven; three grandchildren, Griffin and Gunner Manske and Lia D'Amato; a brother, Dennis Manske of Richmond, Virginia; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Ferro and Andrea Walsh. He is also survived by several nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
His funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Aug. 20 for a mass of Christian burial at St. Barnabas Church. Burial with full military honors took place in the Northford Cemetery.
