Alice S. Macri Sagnella, 79, Cheshire, formerly of Hamden


Alice S. Macri Sagnella, 79, of 1 Wadsworth Lane, Cheshire, formerly of Hamden, died Aug. 15 at the Hospital of St. Raphael after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank V. Sagnella. Alice was born in New Haven on Oct. 22, 1932, daughter of the late Ernest and Bella DeLorenzo Macri. She had resided in Hamden for most of her life.

She is survived by four loving children, Andrea Alchimio and her husband Richard L. of Cheshire, Lawrence A. Langello and his wife Laurie of West Haven, Roberta Penna and her husband Arthur of West Haven, and Frank Sagnella and his wife Cathy of Boca Raton, Florida; four beloved siblings,  Maryann Catardi of Niantic, Carol Ann Criscuolo and her husband Peter of North Haven, Richard Macri and his wife Ruth of North Branford, and Nicholas Macri of Niantic; 11 adoring grandchildren; and four cherished great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved first husband, Andrew Langello, and her beloved brother, Ernest Macri.

Her funeral procession will leave Monday, Aug. 20, at 9:15 a.m., from the Torello-Iacobucci Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven, for a mass of Christian burial, which will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Church, 400 Ridge Rd., Hamden. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
