Rae Rosselli Bimonte, 82, Hamden


Rae Alfone Rosselli Bimonte, 82, of Hamden, died peacefully on Aug. 12 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in New Haven on Feb. 14, 1930, daughter of the late John and Mary Esposito Alfone. Rae had worked for Hartford Insurance. Her passions included cooking (especially her famous lobster tail sauce), walking in early mornings, shopping at the Hamden Plaza, and spending time with her family.  She will be remembered for her selfless nature, strong willed personality, and good sense of humor, but, more than anything, for being a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to those who knew her. 

She is survived by her children, Linda Murray and her husband William of Hamden, Gloria Jerolmon and her husband Walter of Milford, Anthony Rosselli and his wife Deborah of Whitinsville, Massachusetts, Tina Vitale and her husband Louis of North Haven, and John Rosselli of Wallingford.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, William Murray III, Jennifer Amore and her husband Giovanni, Amelia Pires and her husband Kevin, Alexandra Rosselli, Elise Vitale and her fiancé Logan Reed, and Louis Vitale, Jr.; two brothers, Salvatore Alfone of East Haven and John Alfone and his wife Sheila of New Haven; and her sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Alfone of Guilford. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Alfone. 

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 10:30 a.m.  A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Frances Cabrini Church at 11 a.m., followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be Monday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.  Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2911 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, CT  06518, or to the Connecticut Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT  06405.
