Steve Lott, Jr., 86, Ocala, Florida, formerly of Ivoryton


Steve Lott, Jr., 86, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Ivoryton, died May 13 at the West Marion Community Hospital in Ocala, Florida.  He was the husband of the late Agnes (Redfield) Lott.  Steve was born in Sussex, New Jersey, on July 5, 1925, son of Steve Lott, Sr. and Annie (Simons) Yezik.  Steve and Agnes moved to Ivoryton and started their own construction company, which they ran until retiring to Ocala, Florida, in 1980.  Steve enjoyed life, his family, and his gardens. 

Steve was also a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Silver Springs Lodge, where he earned the fellowship degree.  In additon, he was a member of the Seminole Moose Legion 81 and a member of the North Florida Council of Higher Degree.

He is survived by four children, Paul and his wife Cindy of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Peter and his wife Debbie of Clinton, Susan Herrick and her partner Pete of  Deep River, and Betsy and her husband James Budney of Deep River. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jodi Lott, Jennifer Chubbuck, RJ Herrick, Anna Teachworth, Samantha Herrick, Steven Budney, and Katrina Herrick; 10 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Mason, Qualia, Sabastian, Austin, Brooke, Kendra, Chase, Jessie, and Victoria; his very dear lady friend, Bobbi Hulslander; and two very special neighbors, Kelly and Michael.  Steve was predeceased by his son, Steven Lott III and Steven’s partner Thomas Egan.

A memorial gathering will be held on June 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Deep River Ambulance building.
