Roger G. Corso, Sr., 58, Northford

Roger G. Corso, Sr., 58, of Great Oak Rd., Northford, died on April 24. He was the husband of Sandra Simonelli Corso. Roger was born in New Haven on April 6, 1954 and had worked in the maintenance department at Sheehan High School in Wallingford.  He was a man who always put others before himself. He was always there to help when others were in need, and he was truly a jack-of-all-trades.

Roger was a master carpenter and an avid New York Giant’s fan.  He also enjoyed family get-togethers, especially backyard barbeques. He was a great father, but most of all, he was the best poppy, gardening and playing with his grandchildren, who provided him with the happiest times of his life.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three children, Roger G. Corso, Jr. and Kevin Corso, both of Northford, and Gary Corso and his wife Jennifer of Wallingford. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Cole and Skylar Corso, to whom he was their loving “poppy.”www.northhavenfuneral.com
