04/25/2012 04:00 PMBarry Wind, 68, of Whitehorse, Ohio, formerly of Essex, died on Nov. 2 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Redfield) Wind, whom he married on June 25, 1971. Barry was born in Middletown on Dec. 10, 1942, son of Catherine (Wineski) Wind of Ivoryton and the late Edward Wind. He had worked as a Division controller for the Dana Corporation, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed golf, gardening, cooking, cars, cats, music, old movies, the beach, and science fiction.
Besides his beloved wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Justin Wind of San Jose, California, and his niece, Amanda O’Donnell and her husband Colin of Brooklyn, New York. Barry was predeceased by his brother, Gary Wind.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 14 Prospect St., Essex. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, 169 Old Colchester Rd., Quaker Hill, CT 06375. The Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbrook, is in charge of arrangements.
