02/28/2012 11:00 PMElena Cochiaro Brazee, 90, of 111 South Shore Dr., East Haven, died Feb. 24 at her home. She was the wife of Rutlage J. Brazee. Elena was born in New Haven on April 28, 1921, daughter of the late Vincent and Amalia Barbieri Cochiaro. A devoted wife and mother, she and her husband had an adventurous life together, having traveled to many places.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Brian Brazee of Panama City Beach, Florida; two sisters, Mary Brown and Carmela “Connie” Brazee, both of Palm Bay, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Judith Ellen Brazee, and six siblings, Florence Ardito, Gloria Schettino, and Anthony, Pasquale, Frederick, and Arthur Cochiaro.
Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., North Haven, on Saturday, March 3, at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Barnabas Church, North Haven, at 10 a.m., followed by burial in All Saints Cemetery. www.northhavenfuneral.
