Richard DeFilippo, 47, of East Haven, died suddenly on Jan. 31 at his home.  He was born on Feb. 12, 1965, son of the late Albert Anthony and Jennie Rose Landino DeFilippo.  Richard was a member of East Haven High School’s class of 1983. He had earned his MS degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University, and his teaching career included Emmet O’Brien and Eli Whitney Technical High Schools.

He is survived by two brothers, Albert DeFilippo and his wife Mary Jean of East Haven and Robert DeFilippo of East Haven, and a sister, Joan Vissicchio and her husband Tony of North Branford.  He was predeceased by his brother David. 

A graveside service took place on Feb. 8 in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.  The East Haven Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
