Pasquale “Pat” Sabia, 88, Branford


Pasquale “Pat” Sabia, 88, husband of Carol Walston Sabia of Branford, died in West Haven on Dec. 26.  He was born in Naugatuck on Nov. 28, 1923, son of the late Angelo and Julia Macri Sabia.  Pat was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. Prior to his retirement, he had been a chef at Mory’s in New Haven for many years.  Pat also belonged to the PT Boaters Club. 

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Sabia of Branford; a daughter, Sandra Astarita and her husband John of Branford; five grandchildren, Nick and Shaun Sabia, Jesse Melillo, and Krista and Natalia Astarita; his great-grandchild Karma; and his sister, Anita Diglio of East Haven.  He was predeceased by a grandson, Michael Sabia, and his brother, Dominic Sabia.

Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford, and are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 31, at 10 a.m., at the North Branford Congregational Church. Burial will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery.
