Olivia Demaras Ries, 21, Guilford, formerly of Danville, Vermont
Olivia Demaras Ries, 21, of Guilford, formerly of Danville, Vermont, died on Dec. 11, surrounded by her adoring parents, Elizabeth Demaras and Barry Ries, and her grandmother, Patricia Fitzgibbon. Born in Miami, Florida, on April 17, 1990, Olivia shone bright and beautiful within and without. As a child, she danced, played tennis, and began a lifelong love of fishing and boating. After attending her freshman year of college at Lyndon State College in Vermont, Olivia left for New York to pursue an education in the arts. Her life became burdened with overwhelming challenges, which she handled with enormous courage and grace.
Olivia’s family and friends will always love her, and her parents will never stop missing their beloved daughter.
Besides her parents and grandmother, she is survived by three aunts, Denise, Marilee, and Patricia (her godmother); her uncle Victor and his wife Linda; her cousins, Owen Troy and Sara Demaras; and her many friends all over the world.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m., followed by burial in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston St., Guilford. Friends may call on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford.
