Linda Prager Brook (Lazaroff), 74, New Haven
Linda Prager Brook (Lazaroff), 74, of New Haven, died March 18 at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was the wife of the late Conrad Brook. She was born March 25, 1937, daughter of the late Louis and Ruth Prager. Linda obtained her BA from Lesley College and her master’s degree in special education from Southern Connecticut State University. She had been a schoolteacher for the City of New Haven for over 25 years.
Linda was a vibrant, intelligent, artistic, and loving person, whose joy not only came from her family, but from her profession as a teacher. Her impact upon children with special needs cannot be overstated. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who took exceptional pride in the achievements of her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched and influenced over the years.
Linda enjoyed her retirement in Florida for many years with her husband Conrad before returning to Connecticut to be near her family.
She is survived by two beloved children, Larry Lazaroff and Dr. Stuart Lazaroff, both of North Haven. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Stephen, Robert, Jeffrey, and Risa Lazaroff, and two sisters, Sandra Dale (Singer) and Susan Bigham, both of Florida.
Funeral services will be conducted at Congregation Mishkan Israel, 785 Ridge Rd., Hamden, on Sunday, May 22, at 2 p.m., followed by burial in the Mishkan Israel Cemetery, New Haven. Shiva will be held at the home of Larry Lazaroff, 30 Mowry St., North Haven, immediately following the burial and on Monday, May 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492. The North Haven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
