Paul Sharp, 68, Old Saybrook

Paul Sharp, 68, of Old Saybrook, died on April 15. He was the beloved husband of Audrey Sharp. When Paul was a young man, his family moved from Meriden to Westbrook, and Paul continued to live on the shoreline his entire life.

Paul enjoyed hunting for many years. He was also an avid fisherman, and he was seen many times casting his line into the Connecticut River from Saybrook Point.

Anyone who knew Paul would tell you how much he enjoyed a good joke, and he always had an endless number of jokes to tell, as well. He felt life was too short to be too serious.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by two devoted children, Christopher Sharp and Jessica Sharp. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Robert Clarke; a brother, Gerald Sharp; a sister-in-law, Marian; four nieces; and a nephew.

A private memorial service is planned.
