02/21/2011 11:00 PMFrank V. LaMonaca, 67 of Clinton, beloved husband of Linda Massey LaMonaca, died at home surrounded by his family on Feb. 21. He was born in New Haven on Jan. 23, 1944, to the late Salvatore and Rose Longobardi LaMonaca.
Frank worked for many years for United Nuclear Corp. He owned Candies and Cream Ice Cream Shop for a number of years. Most recently he worked for Mohegan Sun Casino.
Frank is survived by his daughters Sharynn Gendron and her husband Bob, Tracey Norton and her husband Jeff, and Dawn LeMay and her husband Ted; his son Frank LaMonaca, Jr. and his wife Amanda; and his sisters Teresa Fasulo, Marie Landisio and her husband Vincent, Frances Peccerillo and her husband Ralph. He is also survived by his grandchildren Bobby and Brian Gendron; Kelsey, Jeffrey, and Abbey Norton; Chase and Alyssa LeMay; and Austin LaMonaca and his sisters-in-law Beverly LaMonaca and Bev Powers and her husband Greg. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved dog Vinnie. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister Rose Ann Weyel and his brother Salvatore LaMonaca.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 10:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church of Westbrook followed by interment at Beaverbrook Cemetery in Clinton. Friends may call Friday, Feb. 25 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Swan Funeral Home, 80 East Main Street, Clinton.
