02/10/2011 11:00 PMHugo J. Marchi, 74, of Clinton, died Feb. 10 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Anne (Brennan) Marchi. Hugo was born in New York, New York, on Aug. 1, 1936, son of the late Hugo J. and Adele (Cavallina) Marchi, Sr. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Marchi had been president of the International Data Systems Division of Avery Dennison during his 17 years, and was president and CEO of Allen Bailey Tag & Label Company in Rochester, New York, for nine years, retiring in 2000. After his retirement, he worked as a business consultant.
Hugo loved to travel and fish, but his true love was his family and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Lori and Craig Lee of Clinton, Peter and Connie Marchi of South Windsor, Carolyn Marchi and Kelly Schwarz of Saratoga Springs, New York, and Valerie and Greg Burkhard of Buffalo, New York; a sister, Adele Argento of New York; his 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, on Sunday Feb. 13, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m., at St. Margaret Church, 24 Academy St., Madison, followed by burial with full military honors in West Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Cancer Association (www.kidneycancer.org).
