02/10/2011 11:00 PMGuillermo R. Torres, 79, of Clinton, died Feb. 8 at Bridebrook Health & Rehabilitation Center in East Lyme. He was the beloved husband of Rosa Andaluz. He was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, on April 1, 1931, son of the late Felipe and Ramona Torres. Mr. Torres was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict, and he had retired after 15 years from Pratt & Whitney of Middletown. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be sadly missed.
Besides his wife of 48 years, he is survived by a son, William Torres of Old Saybrook; two daughters, Iris Cummings and Diane Torres, both of Clinton; and four grandchildren, Lucas, Austin, Lily, and Logan. He was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, on Saturday Feb. 12, from 1 to 3p.m., with a funeral services starting a 3 p.m., followed by military honors. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
