Jeanne P. Carlson, 81, of Clinton, beloved wife of 59 years to John P. Carlson, died on Feb. 1.  Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of Ernest and Blanche Peterson.  Jeanne went through the Meriden school system and on to the University of Bridgeport, where she met John.  She had worked at the Westport Public Library for 30 years, retiring as secretary to the director.  A resident of Westport and Fairfield prior to moving to Clinton 12 years ago, Jeanne loved to travel and spend time with family members at family gatherings and activities.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Eric Carlson of Clearwater, Florida, and her daughter, Susan Laird and her husband David and their son Gregory Laird, all of Guilford.

There will be no calling hours and funeral services will be private, per Jeanne’s request.  The Swan Funeral Home of Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
