01/31/2011 11:00 PMChristine Petrillo Esposito of East Haven, dedicated and blessed wife, mother, grandmother, relative, and friend, died Jan. 19, surrounded by her family. Born in Derby, she was the daughter of Nicolangelo Petrillo and Vittoria Iadevito and the wife of Albert Esposito, Jr. Aside from raising her children and grandchildren, Christine enjoyed her work career at United States Surgical for 17 years. Her love and calling to do God’s work made her a rich individual. This legacy of love was passed down to her family and friends.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Richard Esposito and his wife Lori, Rose Esposito, Christine Alfano and her husband Joseph, and Allen Esposito; seven grandchildren, Richard, Jr. and Marissa Esposito, Alec and Liam Black, Luke and Alexis Alfano, and Gia Esposito; and a brother, John Petrillo. She was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Petrillo.
A mass of Christian burial was held on Jan. 22 at St. Bernadette Church. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Pediatric Oncology, 20 York St., New Haven, CT 06508-9979.
