01/13/2011 11:00 PMJosephine Frances DePalma, 97, a long-time resident of Hamden, died peacefully in Madison on Jan. 8. She was born in Hamden on March 19, 1913, daughter of the late Stephen Miczynski and Mary Wontroba Miczynski.
The DePalma family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the Madison House, nurses and staff, who are truly angels, having helped provide care and comfort to their mother.
Josephine is survived by two loving children, Barbara Brown of Guilford and James DePalma and his wife Letitia of Dallas, Texas. She was also survived by two grandsons, Peter Brown of Inverness, Florida, and Jayson Brown of Guilford; three great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, and Kristen, all of Florida; and four great-great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Kaylyn, and Madison. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Robert S. Brown; two brothers, George and Frank Miczynski; and four sisters, Anna Kissell, Amelia Hutchinson, Helen Miczynski, and Marie Graylen.
Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian burial at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 10 a.m., followed by burial in Beaverdale Memorial Park Cemetery, 90 Pine Rock Ave., New Haven.
