Andrew Shea Taggart, 20, Guilford


Andrew Shea Taggart, 20, of Guilford, died suddenly on Dec. 17. He was born Nov. 3, 1990 in Worcester, Massachusetts, the beloved son of Gregory A. Taggart, MD of Greenwood Village, Colorado, and Catherine Shea of Guilford. Andrew graduated from Guilford High School in 2009 and was in his second year of junior college.  His interests included baseball, football, and friendships, of which he had many.  He will be missed and loved by everyone whose lives he touched.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Emily of Guilford and Marybeth of Ware, Massachusetts, and Christopher, Matthew, Rebecca, Meghan, and Sean, all of Colorado.  He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, David G. Taggart of Rhode Island, and Priscilla M. Taggart of Massachusetts, and his maternal grandparents, Carolyn L. and James F. Shea of Massachusetts.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in the North Guilford Cemetery, 159 Ledge Hill Rd., Guilford.  Friends may call on Tuesday, Dec. 21 from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St. Guilford.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Andrew with a memorial gift are asked to make donations to the Guilford Baseball Boosters, PMB-196, 800 Village Walk, Guilford, CT 06437, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256 ( www.woundedwarriorproject.org ).
