Rita Yvonne LaPointe DeGioia, 90, of Hamden, died Nov. 30 at Whitney Manor, Hamden. She was the wife of the late William A. DeGioia, Sr. She was born in West Warren, Massachusetts, on Dec. 18, 1919, daughter of the late Joseph and Albina LaPointe. She was a devoted member of St. Frances Cabrini Church and its Women's Club.

She is survived by three children, Janice Vanacore Tracey and her husband Howard of North Haven, William A. DeGioia, Jr. of New Haven, and Peter DeGioia of Cleveland, Ohio. She is also survived by two sisters, 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be private. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr. No. 3, Rocky Hill, CT 06067. The North Haven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
