10/25/2010 12:00 AMHarry F. Martindale, 71, of Plymouth, Connecticut, formerly of Guilford, died Oct. 24 in Clinton. He was the beloved husband of Judith Beach Martindale. He was born in New Haven on Nov. 2, 1938, son of the late Harry F. and Norma Barseth Martindale. For 36 years Harry loved his job working as a maintenance/tradesman for the Guilford Public Schools.
Harry and his wife raised their family in Guilford, where the neighborhood children would often visit to ask if Harry could come out to play ball. He enjoyed crabbing, woodworking, fast cars, and vacationing in Maine and Florida. Harry was quick to lend a hand to anyone, and he will be best remembered by his family as a good hearted man who took care of his wife for over 50 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his beloved children, Harry F. Martindale and his wife Lori of Clinton and Lewis Martindale and his wife Marci of Westbrook; a sister, Laurel Brunelli of Hamden; two brothers, Doug DuPaul of North Haven and Wayne DuPaul of Florida; and nine grandchildren, Harry, Kevin, Caila, Nicholas, and Alisabeth Martindale and Rachael, Rebecca, Melissa, and Noah Quinn. He was predeceased by two brothers, Howard Martindale and Ed DuPaul, and a sister, Carol Martindale.
Friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Burial will be private.
